Visiting Grace Church

For service times see here.

DRIVING, PARKING and ENTERING
  • Map to Grace Church, Milton (Opens new window).
  • We’re at 317 Main St. East, Milton, a block east of Martin St., right at the corner with Millside Dr.
  • There’s a small parking lot up the driveway and behind the church. It tends to fill up quickly, but there are 2 reserved HANDICAPPED spots near the door, as well as a convenient spot reserved for visitors.
  • You can also park along the east side of Millside drive, or across the street behind the TD Bank.
  • There are two entrances, one facing Main Street and one facing the parking lot.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I COME IN?
  • There will be a greeter inside who will give you a Bulletin which describes the service.
  • You may sit anywhere you like. Don’t worry about taking “someone else’s seat”. If it’s empty, it’s your seat.
  • Words to hymns and songs will be projected on the wall at the front so you don’t need a hymn book.
  • The main service (10 AM) follows the green Book of Alternative Services in the rack in front of you. The page numbers are listed in the Bulletin.
DO MY CHILDREN STAY WITH ME?
  • It’s up to you. They’re most welcome to stay in the service. We like kids.
  • Toddler nursery, children’s program Kids Spirit and the youth group TIGERs (Teens in Grace Ever Rejoicing) are offered during the 10 am service.
  • Children and youth begin in the church with their families and rejoin the congregation before the administration of Holy Communion.
  • If your kids prefer to stay with you there are some ‘Pew Packs’ near each door with some activities for youngsters.
WHAT’S THE MAIN SERVICE LIKE?
  • We begin at 10 and end approximately at 11:30.
  • It moves through several phases. There are Bible readings, a sermon, times of prayer and reflection, and Communion (Eucharist).
  • During the administration of Holy Communion, a small prayer team will be in the sacristy (through the door to the right of the Altar rail). They will pray with you for anything that is on your mind, and anything you talk about will be kept strictly confidential.
  • Our music includes traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs.
  • You can participate as much or as little as you like. If you just want to sit quietly and watch, that’s fine. You won’t be singled out.
  • Please join us for coffee and snacks after the service in the downstairs hall.
CAN I RECEIVE COMMUNION?
  • Any baptized Christian who receives the Eucharist in his or her own church is welcome to receive at Grace as well.
  • If you are not able to receive communion you are still welcome to come forward to the altar rail for a blessing. Fold your arms over your chest to signal that you will not take the bread and wine but would appreciate a prayer.

"It is more absurd to trust God by halves than it is not to believe in him at all." George MacDonald.
